Chris Winter, a native Virginian, proudly calls Colorado home. After undergrad he moved to NYC, studying at Fordham while working at The Shooting Gallery. There he served as Al Pacino’s assistant during the post of Chinese Coffee. He then studied cinematography & filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, winning Worldfest Flagstaff’s Gold Award for his thesis Audacity.

Traveling to Spain he chronicled the life of a young bullfighter in Chamon. Narrated by Roger Mudd, the documentary won Best International Documentary Feature at Chicago Latino Film Festival as well as New York & Los Angeles’s International Independent Film & Video Festivals.

Chris then enrolled at the Hollywood Film Institute, The Edit Center & Henninger Media Services. He joined the Marines, graduating from the DINFOS School of Journalism. Afterward he shot for MarinesTV, garnering the Thomas Jefferson Award, the Military Videographer of the Year Award, and the Sergeant William Genaust Award for his production support.

Since launching WinterCine in 2008, his work has appeared on ABC, CBS, CNBC, Discovery, FOX, History, MPT, MSNBC, NatGeo, NBC, Nickelodeon, PBS & WB, among others.

Above all, Chris’s extensive participation within all genres has cultivated a keen, versatile eye when it comes to cinematography. His broad exposure has not only provided the added benefit of experience, but equally important has nurtured a manifold style which he earnestly brings to every project.
